“The Pale Emperor” is an inoffensive and generally unadventurous addition to Manson‘s catalogue. However, it is enjoyable and listenable for the most part. Whilst in the middle it drops off it begins for the first four or five tracks, very positively, and even the tracks that peter out have some interesting components in their instruments. This “souther-gothic-industrial” album is by no means Manson‘s best work, and whilst it’s tame, it’s exposure could garner a wider fan base.
Verdict – 6/10 – Unlikely the revolutionary re-ignition if his career but not something to be ashamed of.
