Devil’s Knot (2014) – Film Review – Short & Late Review

Devil’s Knot documents the story of The West Memphis Three. What starts with a dark beginning results in forgetting it’s dark and disturbing nature with a poor balance between supernatural mystery and disorganised court room drama. With the young boys being unexpanded beyond the fact they like heavy metal and ‘delve into the occult’ and stars Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon  never truly developing more than initially presented, it’s hard to feel sympathy with any of the cast past the 15 minute mark.

For those who enjoyed Prisoners (2013) then consider this it’s incredibly poor, underweight, false-gothic younger brother. Only benefit is that it’s ‘only’ 114 minutes. At least it had the grace to die quickly.

Verdict 1/5 – Watch Prisoners
