10. Stereophonics – Graffiti on the Train
Stereophonics are one of my favourite bands. No doubt about it. But they seem to have a reputation of being love or hate; those that love could list all their songs that make them feel any number of emotions, whilst those that hate can’t pinpoint one exact reason. I generally have faith in that with their releases there will be something good on it even if the other tracks aren’t exactly to my liking. This album however was bristling with great songs. “Violins and Tambourines” should have been a James Bond theme song whilst “Been Caught Cheating” added an extra dive into their blues influences. There are many swarming choruses on this album and just one, open-minded, listen should be enough of a reason to understand why it’s so enjoyable and why the band are so well loved.
